Wafus 100th Birthday

David Sailor Parry HMS ILLUSTRIOUS VISIT TO LIVERPOOL
The weekend of 23 -26th October is scheduled to be a "high profile" visit of HMS ILLUSTRIOUS to LIVERPOOL - all part of this year's Centenary of Naval Aviation. She will be berthed at the Cruise Liner ...Berth in the centre of the city. The following programme is planned.
Friday 23rd October
0900 Aircraft take off in preparation for fly past.
1000-1600 Static park of aircraft open
1400 - Centenary Fly Past along the River Mersey.
1600 - RN Helicopter display team "The Black Cats" flying in front of Albert Dock
1630 - Aircraft land back on ILLUSTRIOUS.

Imho Star of the show. Proper aircraft at the Pool ,for the Wafus Birthday Sea Vixen Call sign 134 XP 924 HMS Eagle 899 Squadron "The Flying Fist " bring it on Also in the flypast Merlin, Sea King, Lynx, Squirrel helicopters. Falcon, Hawk, 2GR9 Harriers, 4 Fireflys, Seafire and Sea Fury. Pity the South Africans couldnt lend us their 3 flying Buccaneers for the day, from thunder City. A dream to far i think

Flypast on the Friday.23rd Oct. 1400 over HMS Illustrious in Liverpool Quote "I understand all the flying elements are departing from RAF Cosford/Shawbury, . They are having a photo shoot opportunity, so contact them if you are interested".
