Looking real good Nige, The team is doing a great job!

I'll sort the spare parts out for you later this week ready for Saturday. I have collected a fair bit stuff for you, so be sure to make some boot space!

Thanks for the comments guys, the chaps did work hard yesterday.

Loads of boot space Francis, just forgot to do a dummy loading of the crew ladder to ensure it will fit into the Astra!!! rolleyes Hook or by crook, its going in there wink.

Hugh, the markings are not finished yet, I have to remove a bit more of the adhesive film as it looks a tad overkill at the moment and does not stand up well to close inspection.

I wish to extend my thanks to Francis for sorting out some of the spares for 889 and a big thanks to Brian Mclain for allow us the use of his engine intake blanks.

Sorry I could not hang around for much longer than I did, I hope young Steven passed on my regards.

This coming weekend will see most of the volunteer force in action both Saturday & Sunday for the final push before Airday, our fingers are crossed for good weather.
As usual, if you would like to either come and give us a hand or just to visit us, please email & PM me.

Cheers for now.

Firstly, happy birthday for yesterday, nice weather you had.

The refuelling panel is fitted but as per usual with this aircraft, the looms are severed and we are missing 4 of the switches, though I may have a lead on replacements.

Myself & DT are quits at the moment, but may offer him some work once he is out and has lost some weight!! grin

I think we will be ok with the panel we have as I am sure I can find some spare switches.

Work continued on 889 over the weekend, with myself, Keith & Dan in attendance. First job of the day was to start to fit some of the many components that we had brought back from Bruntingthorpe a week earlier.

Items fitted included 2x Intake Blanks, Strike Sight Computer and Fuel Rectifer units.

We swiftly moved onto the goal of the day, jack and recharge the undercarriage liquid spring shock absorbers, with the use of fully serviceable kit and the correct fluid and charging gun, the job was completed in a little under an hour from start to finish.

We were back on Sunday to complete the clean down and spruce up, this time with Chris in attendance.

A few pics from the weekend.

We have made a start on the Electrics but turned our attention to Aircraft Husbandry in the last month to bring her up to display condition for a busy schedule of events at Kemble this year.

We have everything to rebuild the front and rear stations, including both ejection seats. It will be a while before anything is refitted though.
