889's Kemble Airday appearance was a success, considering we have stripped out cockpit, the chaps (Chris & Timbo) took a tidy sum from interested members of the public.

I would like to thank both Chris & Timbo for their help in looking after 889 during the weekend on our behalf.

If anyone took any photos of the aircraft during the airday, we would love to see them.

Although not quite photographs, Anthony and myself managed to get some video and photos taken whilst we moved 889 to her parking spot for AirDay. Critisism welcomed as it's my first attempt at video editing.

889 now sits safely back on the pan after myself and Keith recovered her on Wednesday, the bearings are holding up nicely but do make a noise, hopefully the spare wheel we have stored will eradicate this problem.

Keith brings 889 back towards the Apron.

889 will be on public display this weekend at the Vintage Stream Fair at Kemble.

Myself, Jacqui, Keith, Dan & Anthony will be in attendance on Sunday to answer your questions and show you around the old girl for a small donation, look forward to seeing you there.

Just a quick update on 889, myself and Keith went down to Kemble today to position her ready for the Open Day on September 13th/14th and we got soaked.

We hope to be able to re-charge the main undercarriage to the correct pressure in the coming weeks before the open day, I will keep you all updated in due course.

Having had two people interested in helping out with 889's rewire, I can now confirm that neither of them will be following up there initial enquiry, so the plea goes out again.

Is anyone out there with electrical experience within shooting distance of Kemble, Gloucestershire, who would be willing to give us some freetime to assist us with rewiring 889?
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay but a relaxed & jovial atmosphere is guaranteed.

Nige,

What exact area are you looking to re-wire first? I guess it will be in the cockpit, but which console/instruments do you plan on attacking first?

Working from Right to left, starting in the area of the wing fold lever.

889 is now positioned ready for open day but only after trying to place her in an alternative location.

I sure that the team will agree with me, that the mind was starting to be cast back, to the days when she was up to her axles in soup at Staverton!!

Efforts will now be focused on the higly advanced sub-aquatic Meteor programme being undertaken at Staverton, Glos, where the S2.4x4 Trials began in ernest some years ago.
