An update from Matt...!

Wing fold up and down on the dry cycle for the right engine to fault find the wing nav light again. The left engine anti-det ground run c/o to 50% flying controls cycled. We need to adjust the replaced aileron as it travels too much. This we'll do with the hyd rig as it's less dangerous!

The nav hatch window had been partially replaced. I just need to fit the remaining bolts. However, Iím going to change for nuts and bolts as the screws are all mashed up!

The rest of the day was spent spares recovering the JP cockpit section that was found in a skip! The rudder pedals were released for use on the other JP. The electrical system on this aircraft was finished off and then fired up. All electrical services functioned, not surprising since it's an ex-flyer!!

And no, nobody has volunteered to re-swage the operating cables on the vixen wing fold yet!!!!

The stbd engine was run again on saturday however 6 minutes into the run the nose retraction jack hydraulic hose burst....in front of everyone, typical of a woman that .....only kidding hopefully we can remove it as it's fairly accessably and try and get a new one made, it's inevitable that little glitches will turn up here and there, so the double engine run still remains to be done !!!! there were plenty of people video ing the event but not sure of any stills

The hyd hose has been replaced and dave has been steadily refilling the hyds back up slowly, just got to prime the system and then find a working stad with fuel in to run it again. Unfortunately the little palouste has decided to die and the motor on one of the stads has expired also.

Interestingly the cables to the hook and the refurbed selector valve means that during the abortive last run of the RH ecu it was merrily thumping the ground, it'll probably be into the new year before we can look at the wing fold cables especially with the expansion of the mini airforce !!!!!! watch this space

left engine dry cycled ok, right hand sluggish to start but LIT up well (mainly lack of air pressure during start from STAD) carried out a small throttle adjustment, however second run curtailed when the JPT was excessive trying to start

There are videos come on steve find out how to download

just a quick update dave has reconnected the wingfold cable into the cockpit and was refitting the handbrake cable aswell.hook now works from cockpit when tested.fuel leak is being looked at and should enable both engines to be run very soon.on last engine test i was involved with one of the gennys was brought online and put out a healthy 360 amps which is nice.a rebuild can now commence on the navs side of the cockpit as alot of stuff was removed to gain access to the brake cable runs now that work is close to finishing we can start putting stuff back.we are making progress and realisticly we need to test brakes and nosewheel steering then poss start taxi testing she is very close put things keep failing and setting us back however we are all working hard to get her back into working order for running up the brunty runway.due to unique nature of 494's systems anyone with any info on the mods done to her during her trials work would be useful manuals don't cover half of what is in 494 at present.
