Don't worry about her appearance, She will look the biz on the open day, if your up on the day come join the flight line grin. During the winter Yes a paint job is on the cards, so preping will start later on this year Dave Walton has given me the green light to start. Next week Dave will check the systems out and Dave Walton has given th go ahead for her to go onto the runway,2 Buccs for the open day what a sight! shocked

Paul,

Myself, Guy, Andy and Julian spent a couple of hours on her paintwork the day before.
I couldn’t feel my arm for an hour or so afterwards grin

Cheers, Francis

What a fantastic job you have all done. I just wish I could of been there. At least you don,t have to put up with removing om-15 that has vented all down the bomb door and turned into a treacle like substance in flight. But then again I don,t think any of you would complain at such a small sacrifice, to see one of these beasts beating up the airfield again. Thanks all of you for all your hard work and keeping the memories of these wonderful icons of british aviation at its best in the best order possable.i wonder how much longer we will have an airforce.Would I join today if I was 18 again? Maybe not.

XX900 now has a HDU on loan. Any chance anyone out there might be able to fill the missing panels and oh just a small thing, we need a wing mounted pylon!!

In 2 weeks 900 will be back on Brunters runway for the last time this year as we test the anti skid crontrol unit which has dogged this bird for far too long. Weve got it cracked! Then its in the L.V.R.E for some more anti det checks and then the preping for the Paint Job! David Walton has given the go ahead and maybe a return to 208 sqn colours. She will look more fantastic for the May open day! Does anyone have any pictures of 900 in 208 colours. That could help us? Pictures and info to follow. Thanks

But she ended her days with 208 sqn less hassle when it comes down to it, you only have see the forums on the paint job on our victor people mainly armchair 'experts' knocking em. But if you fancy lending a hand in the preping who knows what might get applied? She just needs a paint job looking a bit tired now and applying wd40 on open days makes her look good but its expensive and does not last. So roll on the paint job. Matty

My Grandad ended his days in an old peoples home but I remember the times when he was at his own house. Not saying that the old peoples home was bad but wasn,t his real home.as 208 were the last Bucc sqdn then all the buccs that were left in a reasonable condition were sent there.I was on 12 for 6 years and xx900 was there before me and after I left.I was also on 72 sqdn wessex and 54 sqdn jags but my heart and fondest memories always turn back to 12 sqdn.Pete will probably admit that 12 was the best sqdn in the uk high morale and great rivalry. But history has resigned 208 to a reserve sqdn where as 12 carries on (for the meantime) as a frontline sqdn.I know you live a long way from Brunty and have a labour of love travelling from Lincs every week It takes me nearly 3 hrs to get to lincs from gt Yarmouth else I would be there getting dusty with ya.The work you all do is fantastic and is appreciated more than you all realise and I wish I lived nearer so that I could help you 18 years until I retire then things may be different so watch out grin

i would like to echo goosey sentiments you guys dont realise how much your efforts mean to people like goose and myself to see the efforts you guys go to is awsome the best times in the mob i ever had was working with people like goose on 12 sqn so i like goose am slightly biased although i spent time with the 208 12sqn will always be the one for me
as to helping I wou;ld love to be close enough to get my hands on the old girl once more but 4.5 hrs each way and a 5 year old make it hard however as he gets older im game to help if i can
