Ok, time for a couple of new ones…

First off is Buccaneer S.Mk.1 XK532 at the Highland Aviation Museum, Inverness. Back in the old days this one used to guard the gate at RAF Lossiemouth just up the road from the museum site. (11-09-2007)

Secondly, is the nose section of Buccaneer S.Mk.2B XV867 which can also be found at the Highland Aviation Museum. (11-09-2007)

Please check out the following link to see what happened to the rest of this magnificent jet: http://www.buccsociety.com/xv867/xv867_scrap_gallery_index.htm

Also, please see Hugh’s earlier post on these two Bucc’s which can be found here: http://buccsociety.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1131805601&start=15

If anyone is ever in the area off Inverness, go and check out the museum, it is well worth a visit!

After Inverness, it was off to Elgin and the Buccaneer Service Station to see Buccaneer S.Mk.2B XW530. I only just managed to get this one before the light failed!
XW530 still appears to be well looked after although she’s showing a bit of wear and tear since my last visit a few years back. (11-09-07)

Ok, time for one new one and one updated one, both from overseas!

First off is an update of Ulster Aviation Societies XV361. Good to here that she’s now finally back on display.
XV361 still regularly runs her engines and also has her hydraulic systems exercised. (16-09-2007)

Next up is XV863. Formerly at RAF Lossiemouth but now at Weston Aerodrome in Ireland, Unfortunately she is not currently on public display, but hopefully this will change in due course! (16-09-2007)

The photographer’s name is Mark Bushell.
Kindly, he has offered to post on to me a high resolution set of photos of 885 on a CD. I will send them to you once I have received them!

Long time lurker first time poster!
Just wondering what the fate of the Bucc at Manston is? She seems to be a "xmas" tree right now?

Quite right Peter, 864 has been used as Christmas Tree by oursleves, the Buccaneer Trust and the BEST Pirates, I cannot see it being to long before she comes up for disposal.

She was officially being used as crew rescue trainer but has since ceased to operate in this role.

Funds are being put aside for the fateful day, as she still has a lot of useful parts on board.
