xx Main undercarriage retraction

Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm making an rc model of the buccaneer and have being trying to figure out how the main gear detracts I went to yeovilton to see if j could work it out and I'm still stumped. I can't work out how the main leg fits in the wheel well.

Can anyone help

yes theres the rub
when retracting the undercarridge on buccs the leg retracts up vertical then sideways ie theres a retraction jack in the top of the liquid spring above the wheel

I see. So the leg shortens itself using the shock absorber.

Hi Richard,

There is a shortening mechanism mounted on top of the main legs which pulls the shock absorbers upwards upon retraction.

Hopefully these photos and diagram will help...

The diagram is from one of the many Buccaneer APís that I have in my collection.
APís (Air Publication) are the manuals used to service/repair the aircraft etc.

If you need a diagram detailing some area of the Buccaneer, chances are that I (or someone on this board) will have it!

Are you able to buy these Air Publications.

What I'm mainly after at the moment is a three view drawing with decent profiles of the fuselage.
